The Benefits of Garden Workshops: A Practical Guide

Garden workshops are more than just sheds; they’re versatile spaces that offer a host of benefits. Whether you’re a hobbyist, a DIY enthusiast, or simply need extra storage, a garden workshop can transform your outdoor space. In this article, we’ll explore the advantages of having a garden workshop and why you should consider investing in one.

  1. Unbeatable Storage Space
A garden workshop provides ample storage for your tools, equipment, and seasonal items. Unlike cramped garages or cluttered spare rooms, a workshop shed keeps everything organized and accessible.
  2. Durability and Strength
Garden workshops are built to last. Constructed from premium materials such as pressure-treated wood, hot-dipped galvanized steel, and unbreakable polycarbonate, these structures withstand the elements. For example, our Barnwell heavy duty workshop boasts:
Floor - Supplied with heavy duty 18mm moisture resistant V313 Caberboard flooring on 47mm x 47mm tanalised floor hoists
Roof - 15mm finished tongue and groove matching on sturdy roof bearers with heavy duty polyester roofing felt and ventilation gap along the back of the roof
Walls - 15mm finished tongue and groove shiplap fixed to 47mm x 47mm framework, upgrade to loglap or tanalised available.
Doors - Fully framed, ledged & braced with a five lever mortice lock & handle.
Windows - Four window styles are available: Classic (Larger panes with at least one opening sah as standard), Georgian (Smaller all fixed panes - opening sash upgrade available), Security (Short high lever pillar box style), No windows (No window at all).
Heights - 1.95m (77") internal eaves height rising to ridge heights of:
    2.1m (83") up to & inc 5' Gable ends
    2.16m (85") on 6' to 8' Gable ends
    2.3m (91") on 9' to 12' Gable ends
all comply to 2.5m maximu height restriction
Treatment - Our building are treated internally and externally with a spirit based preservative that helps protect the timber from fungi, woodworm & blue stain. We do recommend that buildings are retreated within 3 months, unless painted and then every year for continuous protection.
  3. Tailored to Your Needs
As the name suggests, a workshop shed is designed for specific purposes. Whether you’re a carpenter, artist, or home-based professional, you’ll find a workshop that suits your requirements. It’s an ideal workspace for various trades.
  4. Enhances Your Garden’s Appearance
A well-designed garden workshop adds aesthetic value to your outdoor space. Choose a workshop that complements your garden’s style and enhances its overall appearance as an attractive addition.
  5. No Planning Permission Required
Unlike home extensions, garden workshops typically don’t require planning permission.

Conclusion

Investing in a garden workshop is a smart decision. From storage solutions to customized workspaces, these structures offer practicality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
